The Dojo

It started with one mat and a bad idea.

Two friends, a rented warehouse, and a conviction that Riyadh deserved a real fight gym. The warehouse is gone. The conviction runs the place.

Apex opened in 2016 with one mat, a heavy bag, and a printed sign that said “no egos.” The first month had nine members and no air conditioning. Word spread the only way it does in this sport — someone got tapped, came back angry, got tapped again, and never left.

Eight years later we train over twelve hundred members across four disciplines, sent a competition team to the podium more times than we can hang medals for, and still open every class the same way: bow in, check the ego, do the reps.

The dojo code

01

Safety is the technique

A partner you injure is a partner you cannot train with tomorrow. Control before submission, every round.

02

Beginners set the pace

Your first class is the most important one we teach. If a newcomer feels lost, that is our failure, not theirs.

03

Compete or don’t — same respect

The member training to touch their toes is as welcome as the one chasing a title. Both do the work.

04

Clean mats, clean sport

Hygiene is non-negotiable — mats disinfected between every class, nails checked at the door. We are grown-ups here.
