Our Practice

Four disciplines, drawn by the same hand.

We rarely do just one. A Nakhla house arrives as architecture, interior, courtyard and — where the fabric is old — conservation, coordinated so the seams never show.

Architecture

From the first shadow study to the stamped set. Family houses, majalis, farm retreats and small public buildings — massed in mud-brick or rammed earth, planned around a shaded court.

Concept to construction drawings

Interior architecture

Rooms that grow out of the walls, not onto them. Lime plaster, palm-wood ceilings, built-in seating and light designed as carefully as the structure that carries it.

Materials, joinery & lighting

Courtyards & landscape

The shaded heart. We place the palm, run the water, and shape a court that cools the house and holds the evening — then extend it into gardens that ask for little water.

Courtyard, water & planting

Heritage conservation

For old mud-brick fabric: survey, structural repair and careful re-plastering that respects the building’s age. We document before we touch, and we touch as little as the walls allow.

How a project moves

  1. 1

    Site & brief

We visit the plot, read the sun and the neighbours, and turn your list of needs into a single measured sketch.

  2. 2

    Concept & massing

Plans, a physical model, and a shadow study. You see the courtyard before a single wall is priced.

  3. 3

    Detailing & documents

We draw to the joint, coordinate the trades, and issue a construction set a contractor can build without guessing.

  4. 4

    On site

We stand with you through the mud and the plaster, checking the shadow falls where the drawing promised.

Have a plot in mind?

Send us the location and a rough brief — we will tell you honestly whether we are the right hand for it.
