Salalah · Dhofar Coast
A breezy beach resort on the Salalah coast — forty rooms and villas a barefoot walk from the lagoon, three pools, a spa in the palm shade, and the warm Arabian Sea doing most of the work.
Marhaba
Laguna Bay sits where a freshwater lagoon meets the Arabian Sea, twenty-five minutes west of Salalah. In Khareef the hills behind us turn green and the mist rolls in; the rest of the year the sky is wide open and the water is bath-warm.
It is small on purpose — forty rooms, four little restaurants, and a team that learns your coffee by the second morning. Come for the beach; stay for the way nobody rushes you anywhere.

The reef, the dolphins, the blowholes at Mughsail — all a short ride away. Or don’t move. That is allowed too.

Fifteen minutes offshore to clear water, parrotfish, and the odd turtle.
Out at dawn with the fishermen when the pods come to feed in the bay.
The cliffs, the sea caves, and geysers that fire straight up through the rock.
Flat, warm, and impossible to get wrong — the calmest water you will find.
A land tour of the frankincense trees, banana farms, and the old souq in town.
Three pools, one lagoon
An infinity pool over the sea, a quiet adults’ pool in the shade, a shallow splash pool for the little ones — and a lagoon warm enough to swim in at midnight.
We booked three nights and stayed six. The staff felt like cousins by the end of it.
