We got tired of dashboards nobody opened.
Pulseboard began as an internal tool at a payments company, where a product question took three weeks and a ticket to answer. We thought that was absurd. We still do.
In 2021, Dana Reyes and Omar Haddad were running data infrastructure at a fintech processing millions of transactions a day — and still watching product managers guess. The tools existed; nobody opened them. So they built one people actually open: fast enough to answer during the meeting, simple enough that the intern uses it unsupervised.
Today Pulseboard is 38 people across 11 time zones, remote by design, with a San Francisco HQ that is mostly a mailing address and a very good espresso machine. We meet in person twice a year and write everything down in between.

Fast is a feature
Sub-second queries are not a benchmark flex — they are what makes people ask the second question.
Private by default
We mask before we store, not after. The features we cannot build responsibly, we do not build.
Write it down
Across 11 time zones, memory is a single point of failure. Decisions live in documents anyone can read tomorrow.

Weekly releases, daily measure
Every Thursday, something ships. Every Friday, we check what it did. Pulseboard runs on Pulseboard — dashboard 001 is our own.

A metric per feature
Nothing enters the roadmap without a number it is supposed to move and an owner who answers for it.

Prototype over memo
Disagreements are settled with a branch deploy, not a thread. The demo wins the argument or loses it by Friday.

Delete relentlessly
Twice a year we remove features with flat adoption curves. The product stays small enough to stay fast.
