The Studio
Stillpoint began as one teacher, six mats and a rented living room. It grew into a home for anyone who needed an hour that asked nothing of them.
Amara opened the studio in 2016 after years of teaching in gyms that treated yoga like cardio with softer lighting. She wanted the opposite: a room where slowness was the point, where nobody counted calories, and where a first-timer felt as welcome as a teacher on their day off.
Ten years on, twelve teachers share the same three rooms and the same quiet rule: meet the person on the mat, not the pose you wish they could do. We stay small on purpose — small enough that we still learn everyone’s name.

Begin where you are
Before the poses, before anything — just this. Let the circle set the pace: in as it grows, out as it softens.
Every class has a modification and a smile for the person on their first day. You will never be the only new one.
We would rather you breathe well in an easy pose than hold a hard one and forget to. The breath leads.
Screens stay in the cubbies. For sixty minutes the only notification is your own breath.
There is nothing to compare yourself to here. The practice is yours, and it is not a competition.
